Qualifications and Requirements :
Education : High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Certification :
Must have completed a medical assistant program that meets certification eligibility requirements.
Must be certified as one of the following :
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT)
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)
CPR certification required.
Experience :
Medical assistant or physician office experience required.
Referral management and scheduling experience is a bonus.
Skills :
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of clinical and clerical operations, service excellence, and clinical quality initiatives preferred.
Familiarity with computers required; electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred.
Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
