Job Description
The Research & Evaluation Manager oversees quantitative and qualitative research design and implementation, as well as other data and measurement projects. The Research & Evaluation Manager consults with clients to interpret and apply results and findings to make data-informed decisions related to their strategies, programs, organizational development, collective impact and system change efforts.
The ideal candidate is an activator who enjoys collaboration and can also work independently to accomplish a variety of research-related tasks, including timeline development, data analysis, and report writing.
The Research & Evaluation Manager works closely with the CEO / Owner, Director of Strategy & Capacity Building and Director of System Change.
Responsibilities include:
Research & Evaluation.
- Determine immediate and long-term research needs including Primary and Secondary Research, Concept Testing, and Efficacy Studies
- Evaluate and implement qualitative and quantitative methodologies to meet specific research and evaluation objectives.
- Manage research projects including study design, creation of various tools and study materials, deployment, data capture, analysis, reporting, and presentation of findings.
- Design and implement quantitative and qualitative research projects. Design, program, and manage online surveys. Develop stakeholder and focus group interview guides, conduct interviews (in-person and/or virtually), , develop criteria for materials that need to be created by other team members, create data plans, analyze data, create reports, and present findings, as needed.
- Proven ability to conduct asset and ecosystem mapping, utilizing tools and methodologies to assess and visualize community assets, resources, and interrelated systems.
- Coordinate and manage project schedules for both internal and client teams.
- Provide oversight for design of new research projects for requests for proposals (RFP).
- Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources, and facilitating meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.
- Proven leadership/supervision skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.

Other Responsibilities.
- Maintains highly professional, consistent, positive relationships with clients.
- Manages project design and implementation in a team environment.
- Maintains CITI certification for all research members.
- Manages user permissions for online survey platform and other research software and tools.
- Complies with and upholds Parlay Consulting Firm’s policies, procedures, mission, values client confidentiality and respect for individual rights & dignity.
- Performs all duties in a professional manner, consistently presenting this image within the work environment and community.
- Maintains excellent communication with all team members with strong virtual collaboration
- Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Use technology to complete assignments involving word processing, PowerPoint and the creation of charts and infographics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, industrial organizational psychology, business, and/or related field (required)
- Graduate or professional degree with emphasis on measurement, research methods, statistics, business, or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of research and evaluation methods, including survey development.
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates empathy, using skills to determine what is most important to the client, and then working to deliver on an organizational promise.
- Knowledge of statistics and survey software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, MAXQDA).
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritize time under competing demands.
- Ability to develop individualized data visualization.
- Management of project-based work (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills including excellent verbal & written communication skills including public speaking
- Able to prioritize deadlines and consistently deliver high-quality services and products with minimal oversight
- Self-motivated, positive team player with a desire and drive to learn and grow
- Ability and willingness to work currently remotely with a flexible schedule, which may include occasional evenings or weekends. Future in-person work in a typical office environment may be an expectation.
- This work may require travel and client-facing consulting engagements.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Experience in managing multiple relationships individually and in a group setting
CLASSIFICATION: This position is classified as salaried exempt under federal wage and hour law.
