Position Description
The Client Reporting Principal located in Boston will be responsible for leading the client reporting team. We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Client Reporting Principal to lead and enhance our client reporting processes. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and insightful delivery of reports to our clients, while also driving continuous improvement in reporting tools, standards, and client experience.
You will serve as a subject matter expert in client reporting, working cross-functionally with client service, operations, data analytics, to ensure reports not only meet contractual standards but also deliver value and transparency to our clients.
The candidate should be hardworking and must be able to interact with colleagues and third parties, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. The candidate should have oversight experience in a similar capacity and must be willing to dive-in daily to support the team. The candidate will be comfortable interacting with both internal stakeholder’s and external vendors in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end client reporting process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reports.
- Design, implement, and manage standardized and customized reporting solutions that meet client-specific needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., client service, client CIO teams) to maintain high reporting standards.
- Act as the escalation point for complex reporting issues and client inquiries.
- Partner with technology and data analytics teams to automate and optimize reporting processes and tools.
- Review and improve existing reporting templates, dashboards, and visualizations to enhance client communication and insights.
- Provide insights to internal stakeholders on client needs, usage patterns, and satisfaction based on reporting feedback.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Stay informed on industry trends and best practices in client reporting and data presentation.
- Act as a primary escalation point for client teams on operational inquiries and day-to-day client responsibilities.
- Review monthly/quarterly performance reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Client Reporting Process Management
- Develop a deep understanding of processes and back-office portfolio management systems.
- Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries related to reports.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding their reporting needs.
- Supervise the quarterly statement process ensuring all client statements are delivered on time.
- Assess and make recommendations to improve data and reconciliation processes and procedures.
- Identify, evaluate, and report potential control risks and escalate issues when necessary.
Project and Team Responsibilities
- Support the management team with strategic and tactical projects.
- Ensure reports comply with internal and external regulations.
- Identify and escalate potential reporting risks or discrepancies
- Investigate and work with internal teams to drive solutions and make recommendations where appropriate and effectively communicate responses to all impacted stakeholders.
- Attend periodic client team planning meetings and opine from an operations perspective.
Key responsibilities will be regularly assessed and are subject to change from time to time based on the needs of the business. The individual may be required to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications/Attributes
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience (7 ) within investment operations experience is preferred
- Proven experience leading reporting initiatives and managing cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of reporting tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL).
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into client-friendly formats.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
