This leadership role is responsible for strategic planning, financial oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in laboratory production, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and cross-functional leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Operations Management:
- Oversee all laboratory operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement long-term operational strategies to increase efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Lead business planning efforts, ensuring production capacity meets current and future demand.
- Optimize budgeting, resource allocation, and capital investment planning for continuous growth.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and financial targets to assess lab performance.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align operational goals with business strategy.
Efficiency and Process Improvement:
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce waste and optimize workflow.
- Lead Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and process reengineering to enhance productivity.
- Implement advanced data analytics to forecast demand, optimize production scheduling, and drive decision-making.
- Oversee automation and technology integration to enhance scalability and reduce manual inefficiencies.
Quality and Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and increase product reliability.
- Implement robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) strategies to address recurring issues.
- Conduct regular performance audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate operational weaknesses.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team across multiple departments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Implement succession planning and leadership development programs to build future leadership within the lab.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between production, customer service, and R&D teams.
Financial & Business Growth Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, cost controls, and financial reporting to optimize operational expenditures.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth, process cost reductions, and increased operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align production capabilities with business expansion plans.
Technology & Innovation Advancement:
- Lead strategic investments in technology, automation, and process improvements to maintain industry leadership.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends in orthodontic lab manufacturing and introduce innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to support new product development and advanced material testing.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10 years of experience in lab operations management, manufacturing, or production leadership.
- Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scale production environments.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making, production analytics, and process optimization.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
