Summary
Our concrete division is growing in order to meet the demand for concrete work in Harrisonburg and surrounding areas. We are looking to add 2-3 skilled Concrete Finishers.
While working under a skilled Concrete Crew Foreman, this position will assist in concrete site prep, forming, pouring and finishing of concrete. All work is local and no overnight travel is required.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of concrete properties, mixing, and application techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools and finishing equipment effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work long hours.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred).
Key Responsibilities:
- Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using hand tools, such as trowels, floats, and screeds.
- Apply surface treatments (e.g., stamping, texturing) to create aesthetically appealing finishes.
- Set forms for concrete and place reinforcements as needed.
- Monitor and adjust the concrete mix to ensure the desired consistency and strength.
- Inspect finished surfaces for defects and make corrections as necessary.
- Work in a team environment to meet project deadlines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Assist in other construction tasks as needed.
