Compensation: $25.00 - $33.00/hr. D.O.E.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing transportation logistics while mitigating risks, ensuring smooth delivery operations, and maintaining strong relationships with shipping and execution companies. This role requires strong analytical skills, reporting capabilities, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Identify potential risks in contract execution and business operations, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
- Resolve logistical issues by maintaining close relationships with shipping companies, rail operators, trucking/drayage companies, and port terminals.
- Monitor delivery progress, ensuring smooth transportation from ocean shipping vessels to final destinations.
- Develop simple tools for tracking and reporting shipment status to upper management, customers, and headquarters.
- Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks and work with relevant parties to address issues.
- Generate and analyze monthly reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for drayage deliveries.
- Establish and distribute delivery status reports to customers.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction by evaluating logistics expenses and process efficiencies.
- Detect operational issues in different logistics types, such as warehouse and inland transportation, and implement solutions.
- Maintain regular communication channels and meetings with carriers, shipping lines, customers, and internal departments.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and other job-related duties as required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 yrs. experience in route planning, optimizing transport modes, and managing multimodal transport operations. *Must have freight forwarding experience in a logistics setting.
- Ability to develop transport plans that optimize load rates, transport times, and logistics costs.
- Experience in logistics process management, including warehouse operations and local transportation.
- Bilingual in Korean and English strongly preferred. Must have a strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables), PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong prioritization skills with the ability to manage urgent tasks without losing focus on ongoing responsibilities.
Salary : $25 - $33
