Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed, ensuring efficient operation.
- Test equipment after repairs or servicing to verify acceptability and proper functionality.
- Conduct electrical repairs and installations to meet applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Perform plumbing repairs and installations to meet applicable codes and safety regulations.
- Install and maintain conduit and wiring for new equipment or repair existing systems as required.
- Install piping, hoses, and tubing for air, hydraulic, and water systems as needed.
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings and schematics to carry out repairs and installations.
- Perform all tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring quality and adherence to procedures.
- Follow work instructions, specifications, and requirements to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and repair experience, ideally within commercial real estate (industrial, office, or retail).
- Coursework in mechanics, electrical, electronics, or related fields from a high school, technical, or community college.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs.
- Strong understanding of building systems, electrical and plumbing codes, and safety protocols.
- Ability to understand and execute instructions efficiently and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and tenants.
