What are the responsibilities and job description for the College Access Coordinator position at Partnership 4 Kids?
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees logistics, curriculum and attendance for 12th grade after school meetings and case management regarding academics and attendance. Ensures thorough tracking of student engagement, attendance and other data in Civicore.
- Serves as an agency liaison to high school counselors, administration and partner organizations to provide advocacy to program participants. Responsible for implementing a communication plan to recruit P4K scholarship applicants. Plans and executes various parent and student events for high school seniors such as Scholarship Night and other “Next Step” events.
- Meets one-on-one with caseload and families to assist students in achieving an on-time graduation. Responsible for editing, creating and implementing curriculum workshops. Coordinates/leads student events and university based events (Sr. Banquet, college send off, college tours…). Works with special situations and problem-solves solutions to promote student success.
- Completes or contributes to grant proposals and ongoing progress reports. Helps manage and oversee compliance relating to federal grants including
- Contributes to team and agency goals by assisting with programming, volunteer and development goals, including special projects and all other duties as assigned. Enhances professional knowledge by attending educational workshops/seminars and establishing professional networks. Participates in agency committees as needed. Attends relevant trainings focusing on leadership/management, mentorship, volunteer management, and youth development.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, minimum of Associate’s
- Preference given to bilingual candidates (Spanish & English)
- Minimum of 2 years of working with high school/college students
- Strong written communication skills required for assisting with scholarship essays, letters of recommendation and student advocacy with university officials.
- Strong computer skills required to perform essential functions listed above.
- Skilled in verbal communication. Experience facilitating lessons to students, public speaking to large groups and an ability to interact with multiple stakeholders (donors, college and high school administrators, volunteers, etc.).
- Daily access to a reliable vehicle for travel to meetings and transporting youth, as needed. State minimum liability insurance requirements must be maintained for the duration of employment. Driver’s license and acceptable driving record must be maintained throughout employment. Refer to the employee policy and procedure manual for a complete list of acceptable driving information and requirements. Program Coordinators will be required to drive 10-15 passenger van for various events and outings.
