An international nonprofit is seeking to hire a Payroll Administrator in their (Hybrid, 2 on-site days/week) NYC office. The organization is highly reputable, consistently ranked as a top nonprofit and recognized as one of the world's largest private philanthropic funds.
The Payroll Administrator reports into the Global Payroll Manager and is responsible for ensuring a standardized payroll process is followed across multiple locations and executed on time. This is a senior level role requiring strong technical skills and prior knowledge of payroll best practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A minimum of six years managing a U.S. payroll
- Workday experience is required
- An understanding of more advanced payroll functions such as audit, reporting, and account reconciliations
- Experience working with an outsourced payroll vendor
- Experience working within organizations of over 1000 employees
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring accurate data is processed in Workday or the provider’s payroll processing system for the U.S.
- Responsible for preparing various accounting papers, schedules, exhibits, and summaries for audit and compliance for the U.S.
- Conduct accounts reconciliation with support for the U.S.
- Responsible for adhering to the payroll calendar for the U.S. and ensuring it is communicated to the employees
- Responsible for working with the payroll provider and ensuring that labor and tax obligations are fulfilled and is compliant
- Work with the payroll provider to ensure payroll for the U.S. is delivered efficiently and effectively and as per agreed service level agreements
- Respond to employee queries in Workday help regarding the payroll /payslips for the U.S. within the agreed service level timelines
- Prepare and maintain FAQ and knowledge articles for
- Workday Help for payroll and promote employee self-service for basic queries
