Overview

The IT Project Manager is critical in planning, coordinating, and managing a variety of projects within the Information Technology department for Care Design NY and Partner’s Health Plan. These projects may involve system upgrades, software implementations, process improvements, or business process re-engineering. The individual in this role will define an overall strategy and approach, ensure projects are completed successfully, and report and present progress to the executive level. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and lifecycle of medium to large-scale CDNY & PHP projects, including:
    • Project Ownership - Serve as the formal point of contact for all project inquiries.
    • Project Planning - Establish project team and key milestones, assign tasks, and ensure that the necessary progress is made toward milestones and drive accountability to team members.
    • Schedule Management - Establish a project schedule, including kick-off meetings, requirements gathering, and communication sessions.
    • Resource Procurement - Establish the necessary resources, tools, and technology for the project.
    • Project Scope Management - Ensure that solution features and functions align with the project objectives and requirements.
    • Solutions Management - Recommend strategies and procedures by identifying issues, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
    • Project Communication - Inform stakeholders of project progress.
    • Quality Validation - Assure that test coverage is complete, and quality is sufficient to proceed with the solution.
  • Serve as a liaison between the business and the Information Technology department.
  • Risk Assessment - Identify potential issues related to the solution and project execution and ensure they are addressed appropriately.
  • Issue Escalation - Promptly present project challenges and problems to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Work with the Project Manager Supervisor and Information Technology Team to facilitate project governance.
  • Contribute to information technology efforts within the department by achieving related results as needed.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • A  two-year degree is required, with a four-year degree being preferred.
  • At least 3 years of project management and/or a leadership role experience, 5 years of experience preferred
  • Ability to lead, plan, and manage multiple complex projects and tight deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Accomplished organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Project Management applications, including JIRA and Microsoft Planner.

Preferred:

  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification
  • Certified Associate in project managment (CAPM) certification.
  • Experience with technology, including software, business applications, and data infrastruture
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.
  • Experience with healthcare software platforms.
