A science-driven research and clinical development organization is seeking a Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships to join their dynamic team. This well-funded Biotech Company is on a mission to fundamentally transform the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

Scope and Responsibilities :

  • Take the lead in identifying, sourcing, and negotiating high-impact collaborations, licensing, equity, and acquisition opportunities.
  • Facilitate robust decision-making through all transaction stages, ensuring executive and board approval for key deals.
  • Develop and implement negotiation strategies that align with both scientific and business priorities.
  • Craft and execute short- and long-term business development strategies in line with corporate objectives.
  • Manage multiple complex projects concurrently, prioritizing effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Communicate and implement a comprehensive partnering strategy in collaboration with executive team members.
  • Enhance business development capabilities, processes, and practices across the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with internal functions (R&D, Tech Ops, Legal, Finance) to gain support for business development initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and meetings to expand networks and access new opportunities.
  • Ensure thorough opportunity assessments and due diligence reviews to inform decision-making.
  • Accountable for achieving strategic goals that advance the company mission.
  • Engage and influence team members effectively while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving within a performance-driven environment.

Key Criteria :

  • MBA, Ph.D., and / or MD preferred.
  • 8 years of business development experience in the biotech sector.
  • Proven track record of leading and negotiating complex transactions.
  • Familiarity with the autoimmune space, particularly in out-licensing and partnership deals.
  • Proficient in developing strategies for approaching potential partners and identifying connections with larger pharmaceutical companies.
  • Exceptional executive communication skills with the ability to convey the company's value proposition to diverse audiences.
  • Strong influencing capabilities, adept at navigating relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Decisive leader, able to articulate trade-offs in complex scenarios.
  • Robust analytical and strategic thinking skills.
