POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk Date:
Reports to: Accounts Receivable Manager
Summary: Maintains and processes accounts receivables, including keeping cash
records; tracking and filing unpaid claims; applying deposits, and verifying and
coding bills of lading.
Major Duties:
- Verifies and properly codes bills of lading
- Applies and deposits daily customer receipts
- Prepares cash deposits, revenue adjustments, and balances due to customers
- Resolves disputes between invoices and customers
- Notifies customers of past due balances
- Updates aged A/R listing and reports problem accounts to management
- Performs receivable accounts duties with moderate complexity under general supervision
- Performs credit verifications on new customer accounts
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Job Requirements/Work Area Conditions:
Education: High School Graduate. Prefer college major in accounting;
Certifications:
Experience: 2 years A/R or related accounting/collections
Type of Experience: accounting; or similar college accounting background
Special Skills: Keyboarding, IBM PC computer operation, and organizational skills. Attention to detail.
Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
Physical: Works 8 hours/day at desk with only occasional, short breaks
Environmental: Office setting
