What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inmate Services Supervisor position at Pasco County?
The Inmate Services Supervisor is a civilian position responsible for the oversight of the Inmate Services Section. Oversees services offered to the inmate population and works closely with vendors and contracted services. Oversight of front desk records clerks, mail room agents, inmate programs technicians, and inmate programs volunteers. Oversight of visitation, commissary, tablets, telephone services, and other service providers within the detention center which benefit the inmate population. Charged with oversight of processing, screening, orienting, and scheduling inmate services volunteers; purchasing materials as needed; answering inmate requests and grievances; coordination of professional visits; submitting budgetary and service proposals to Inmate Welfare Committee and/or Command staff; completing special projects as directed by supervisor. Leads, trains and directs members, completes employee evaluations, gathers, reviews and submits status reports, communicate effectively with the public, volunteers, contractors and inmates; seeks out new program opportunities; acts as a liaison for facility providers; coordinates activities of the Inmate Services Technician, Inmate Programs Technicians, Mailroom Agents and Records Clerks. Performs other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of CCIS/JMS/FCAC/FMJS.
- Knowledge of County and department procedures and policies.

- Ability to clearly speak, understand, read, and legibly write English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff members.

- Ability to use independent judgement and make technical and professional decisions.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of experience providing inmate services and programs required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. CJIS Security Awareness Certification required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Unescorted CJIS clearance as authorized by FDLE is required.
