We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Daytime Bar Prep to support our bar team in ensuring smooth operations and excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in bar prep or related roles is preferred.
Schedule: Wednesday through Monday 5-hours per day; mornings
Responsibilities:
- Checklists and Inventory: Complete daily bar checklists to ensure all tasks are performed accurately and efficiently. Monitor and maintain par levels for juices, syrups, garnishes.
- Syrup and Ingredient Preparation: Follow precise syrup recipes to create and replenish syrups and infusions, ensuring consistency in flavor and quality. Previous experience in recipe development or food preparation is a plus.
- Juicing and Fresh Ingredients: Complete daily juicing requirements for the bar and kitchen, ensuring fresh and sufficient supply of juices for cocktails and other menu items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of juicing areas.
- Garnish Preparation: Cut, prepare garnishes (such as citrus, herbs, and other garnishes) for both bar and kitchen needs. Ensure garnishes are stored and presented in an orderly and hygienic manner. Attention to detail and precision is important.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the bar prep area clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety standards. Ensure all equipment, tools, and supplies are properly cleaned and stored. Knowledge of sanitation and health code standards is required.
- Batching Cocktails: Assist with batching large quantities of cocktails in advance to streamline service during busy hours. Ensure all batched drinks are prepared accurately, stored correctly, and labeled for easy identification. Experience in large-scale cocktail preparation is an asset.
- Bar Setup: Prepare and stock the bar with all necessary ingredients and supplies for service, including juices, syrups, garnishes, and ice, ensuring everything is ready for a smooth opening. Prior experience in organizing and preparing bar setups is a plus.
- Daily Communication: Maintain open communication with bartenders and front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless transition and understand any specific service needs or priorities for the day. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a team are essential.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a bar prep, barback, or kitchen role, preferably in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of basic cocktail ingredients and garnishes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain proactive
- Basic knowledge of health and safety standards, particularly in food and beverage handling.
- A strong understanding of Mexican cuisine and cocktail culture is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work early morning or daytime hours, including weekends.
