A Japanese start-up manufacturer is seeking a skilled Accountant to join its growing U.S. team.
This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial records, managing business loans, and overseeing the general ledger.
The ideal candidate will have strong corporate accounting experience, an ability to work in a global environment, and a deep understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
Working experience with an international company and/or an understanding of Japanese business culture is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage business loans and oversee debt repayment.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
- Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform cost accounting, including expense analysis and financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and communicate with banks as needed.
- Manage cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and customer accounts.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings at the federal, state, and local levels.
- Develop internal controls for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Assist external auditors with annual audits by providing necessary documents and account details.
- Handle purchasing and invoicing processes.
- Provide financial analysis for capital investment, pricing, contract negotiation, and fixed asset management.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of corporate accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of AP, AR, bookkeeping, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Experience working with international companies or familiarity with Japanese business culture is a plus.
- Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights to management.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office.
