General Position Summary / Job Purposes
The Food Packaging Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and acquiring new business opportunities, maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients, and driving the sales of food packaging products.
This role requires Japanese bilingual proficiency and familiarity with Japanese food packaging commonly used in convenience stores.
The Food Packaging Sales Representative will work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide product solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
Additionally, the role involves supporting order processing, coordinating with internal teams for timely delivery, and regularly reporting sales performance to management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Coordination / Customer Service
- Ensure the credit of all customers, provide price quotations, proposals and credit terms to current and prospective customers by collecting pre-approval from Dept. Manager and Branch Manager.
- Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to promote products and expand the customer base.
Sales and Account Management :
Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, acting as their primary point of contact.Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to prospective clients in both English and Japanese.Manage the sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.Self-motivated, with a results-driven attitude and a focus on customer satisfaction.Business Development :
Identify new markets, business opportunities, and potential customers.Conduct market research to understand trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.Build partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and other stakeholders, including those in Japan.Product Knowledge and Consultation :
Understand the features, benefits, and applications of food packaging solutions, including those commonly used in Japanese cuisine and products in convenience stores.Provide customized packaging solutions tailored to client requirements.Stay updated on industry regulations, sustainability trends, and emerging technologies, with a focus on Japanese practices.Collaboration and Teamwork :
Work closely with production, design, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and quality assurance, considering Japanese packaging standards.Administrative and Reporting Tasks :
Track and report sales activities, customer feedback, and market trends.Prepare contracts, proposals, and other necessary documentation in English and Japanese.Other & Miscellaneous :
Seek constant improvement, more efficient and less costly ways and means in work processes.Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Management.Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.Report all irregular issues and problems to management for early solution.Maintain good communication with management, office team members and outside contacts.Comply with Federal and State laws and regulations.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Qualifications
Education :
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or technical school, or equivalent, with a preference for a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Experience :
At least one year of relevant experience required, with a preference for candidates with three or more years of experience.Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in the food packaging or manufacturing industry.Language Skills :
Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) is required.Ability to conduct professional communication and documentation in both English and Japanese.Skills :
Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Point, Excel, Word)Other :
Familiarity with Japanese food packaging used in convenience stores and supermarkets, with experience visiting or living in Japan. (preferred)Working conditions
Working hours :
Monday through Friday, 9 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, at the Dallas office, with the option to work from home one day per week. Telecommuting arrangement is not cumulative and telecommuting more than once a week is not permitted.
