Japanese global industry manufacturing company in Greenwood, IN seeks Accounting Controller/Treasurer responsible for overseeing the company's accounting functions, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements, and providing high-level financial analysis. This role plays a key part in financial reporting, risk management, and internal controls while supporting business forecasting and budgeting.
Position: Treasurer/Controller
Salary: $125k-$145k plus health benefits package.
Essential Job Functions
Financial Management & Compliance
Supervise accounting systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting, including Pension and 401(k) requirements.
Maintain and enforce internal accounting controls (JSOX).
Oversee cash management, including bank reconciliations and cash pooling transactions.
Coordinate external audits for financial statements and benefit plans.
Oversee risk management, insurance policies, and claims administration.
Manage customs compliance for imports and exports.
Maintain strong relationships with banking institutions.
Serve as the primary liaison for external accounting firms.
Administer the company credit card program.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
Participate in business forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting.
Consolidate financial reporting for all subsidiary companies.
Report on tax management positions for Japanese associates.
Complete fixed asset inventory and asset management.
Ensure compliance with government census reporting.
Leadership & Advisory
Serve as a member of the Benefits Committee.
Maintain and document company staff meeting minutes.
Report monthly financial results to the President.
Oversee all accounting functions for U.S. subsidiaries.
Advise associates on proper accounting treatment of transactions.
Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Communicate with the parent company’s accounting department regarding related-party transactions.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost accounting.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software.
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skill
