Evening Boarding Animal Attendant

We're looking to add driven individuals with a love for animals to our boarding team!

Candidates must be available to work the following schedule year-round:

• Saturdays and Sundays (EOW): 3pm - 9pm. During slower times of the year (typically between January - March) the Saturday shift will be 4pm - 9pm.
• Weeknight shifts are 4pm - 9pm, during holidays and times when fully booked, 3pm - 9pm.

The comfort and well-being of our furry guests are of utmost importance to us! Our goal is to provide a positive experience for all pets during their time with us.

In addition to providing a positive experience, animal care attendants are responsible for proper husbandry care of all boarded animals, including feeding, bathing, medicating, accurate notation and record keeping, and maintaining the cleanliness of guest kennels and condos.

Boarding attendants are also responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of the facility.

We also provide cross-training opportunities in our Dog Daycare for those looking to expand their experience in the animal care industry.

Prior animal care experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual(s).

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Enjoys working with a variety of dogs and cats in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
• Can handle all sizes and breeds of dogs.
• Able to work evenings, as late as 9pm
• Able to work weekends and Holidays
• Able to lift 40 lbs
• Able to walk or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to work outside in all types of weather
• Flexible and eager to learn
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to receive and implement feedback from supervisors
• Reliable form of transportation

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

• Provides compassionate care to guests
• Understands the importance of communication, both with other coworkers and supervisors
• Able to demonstrate patience and compassion when working with timid or nervous animals
• Able to focus on the task at hand during fast-paced parts of the shift
• Responsible for monitoring group play to ensure that all dogs are playing well together in a safe manner
• Can follow posted shift instructions and document accordingly; let-outs, feeding, medicating, litter box cleaning, condo/kennel cleaning
• Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts
• Can recognize and report any unusual pet condition or abnormal behavior to the direct supervisor
• Cleans equipment and facilities using chemicals and supplies; understands the importance of safely using cleaning chemicals in our facility

Performs other duties as assigned
