Position Summary: The Bilingual Intake Specialist for Home Health is responsible for managing the intake process of new clients, ensuring all necessary information is gathered, entered, and processed accurately. This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with diverse populations. The Intake Specialist will work closely with clients, families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and efficient intake process for home health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and families seeking home health services.
- Collect and verify necessary information from clients and/or family members, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Conduct intake eligibility interviews with clients or their representatives in both English and Spanish.
- Review and explain home health services, coverage, and requirements to clients and families.
- Enter client information into the electronic health records (EHR) system accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including HIPAA and client confidentiality.
- Provide translation services as necessary for non-English-speaking clients, ensuring clear communication regarding home health services.
- Assist clients and families with understanding insurance coverage, authorization requirements, and payment processes.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor in all client interactions, ensuring a positive experience for potential clients and families.
- High call volumes both outgoing & incoming
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a healthcare intake or customer service role, preferably in home health, hospice, or medical settings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is Required.
- Knowledge of home health services, Medicaid insurance, and regulations is highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations and their families.
Need to Know:- Office setting, Monday through Friday 9-5pm
- Paid Weekly (Every Friday)
- Salary range $45-$50k
