Duties
- Supervises the PATCH management team, comprising of all Island Coordinators and Program Managers. Monitors the work of the management team for program compliance of all contractual and grant commitments, quality assurance standards and strategic goals.
- Works with major contracting or granting agencies and foundations to understand how the work impacts the early childhood education and care sector and how PATCH can programmatically address those needs best.
- Works with the Program Manager to review and implement programmatic policies as needed to ensure compliance with standards and goals.
- Review all programmatic reports to meet all reporting requirements of government contracts, sub-contracts and grants as required by the Executive Director.
- Support the Executive Director in researching grant opportunities and in preparing contract/grant proposals as needed, including technical assistance in identifying and contacting potential funding sources and providing assistance in reviewing and editing proposals for detailed programmatic, administrative, personnel, financial, budgetary, and contractual components.
- Ensure consistency of each PATCH office of implementation of programs and daily operations.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with other organizations as it relates to PATCH?s strategic goals and public policies. Includes representing PATCH on various boards, task forces, councils and committees as deemed necessary.
- Responsible for managing resources towards the highest potential for return and sustainability.
- Responsible for the agency?s operations in the absence of the Executive Director.
Requirements
- Bachelor?s degree in early childhood education or related field, required.
- Five (5) years of supervisory experience and three (3) years of administrative experience including grant writing/reporting, contract monitoring, advocacy and project management, required.
- Experience working directly with other nonprofits and government agencies, such as the Department of Human Services, Department of Education, and/or the University of Hawaii, regarding policy development and contractual compliance.
- Must be on island, relocation expense is not provided
- Must understand Hawai'i child care landscape
- Candidates must be in Hawai'i and if not already have a date when they will be in Hawaii.
