Position: Polymer Application Scientist
Location: Overland Park, KS Corporate Office
Polymer Application Specialist will work with R&D, Product Management, Sales, and Customer to consult on and design polymer manufacturing process.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Minimum 4 year degree in science or engineering discipline preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ in polymer manufacturing techniques such as extrusion, injection molding, compounding, and thermoforming, etc.
Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to intellectual property and business goals.
- Conduct and manage assigned projects, developing and executing the technical plans, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating project status and results both internally and externally.
- Perform bench top and pilot scale to commercial manufacturing.
- Participate effectively on cross functional teams that may include representatives from R&D, Product Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc. relating to both food and non-food applications for glycerides/emulsifiers.
- Provide technical support and insights to other team members.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Maintain appropriate documentation and records for work.
- Ability to travel 20 – 40 %.
Competencies
- Professional with expertise within the polymer industry
- Possesses strong industrial processing knowledge relating to polymer additives.
- Capable of running and maintaining testing and/or process related equipment.
- Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office, Statistical analysis, experimental design)
- Strong customer interaction experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Capable of self-management for multiple projects and or tasks
- Mature, self-motivated, proactive, and able to deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fluid, dynamically changing, and results-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
