The Polymer Applications Business Development Specialist is a key role in our R&D and Commercial sales department. This polymer expert will work with the company and polymer sales team to develop new business in the polymer category, and consult/support the development of polymer additives or ingredients for the company and customers. Support the sales and commercial functions relating to the application of glycerides in polymer processing and manufacturing. This role will focus primarily on the commercial front and work closely with the R&D Team to drive product development where needed to meet customer needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum 4-year BS degree in science or engineering discipline preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in polymer manufacturing and processing techniques such as extrusion, injection molding, compounding, and thermoforming, etc. Experienced in customer facing interactions or sales support for a manufacturing company.
Responsibilities
- Development of new business in the polymer category, leveraging existing market relationships and industry insights.
- Participate effectively on cross functional teams that may include representatives from R&D, Product Management, Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc. relating to both food and nonfood applications for glycerides / emulsifiers.
- Work closely with the broader team to develop an aggressive growth strategy that will leverage our industry-leading Pationic Product line.
- Contribute significantly to development of polymer products and intellectual property of PATCO’s current and future products.
- Provide technical support and insights to key target customers and the rest of the PATCO Products team.
- Ability to travel 20 – 40%.

- Professional with expertise within the polymer industry
- Possesses strong formulation and industrial processing knowledge relating to polymer additives.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of running and maintaining testing and/or process related equipment.
- Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office, Statistical analysis, experimental design)
- Capable of self-management for multiple projects and or tasks
- Mature, self-motivated, proactive, and able to deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fluid, dynamically changing, and results-oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
