What are the responsibilities and job description for the KEY Academy Assistant position at Path Forward of Kentucky?
Job Summary: The KEY Academy Assistant is responsible for supporting the KEY Academy Teacher and participants in accordance with requirements under Supports for Community Living and Michelle P Medicaid Waivers for both waiver and private pay participants. This part-time position will be located in the Bowling Green office and involves primarily classroom-based responsibilities.
- Support lesson plans, career/pre-vocational activities and class structure set by KEY Academy Teacher
- Teach participants during class sessions according to the approved schedule, in the event KEY Academy Teacher is unavailable. ** Sessions should enable each participant to attain the highest level of work in the most integrated setting with the job matched to their interests, strengths, priorities, abilities, and capabilities
- Demonstrate competence and knowledge on topics required to safely support participants, as described in person centered service plans
- Submit timesheets and complete notes/documentation for services provided
- Assist with monthly summary documentation and verification of daily attendance logs, as needed
- Administer medications for KEY Academy participants, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education/Training: At least a high school diploma or GED, along with completion of all required SCL/MP waiver training. A minimum of one (1) year experience providing direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Effective verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail and solid organizational skills are important, along with the ability to read, understand and implement written and verbal instructions. Positive attitude and flexibility to work independently or in a team environment are essential. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and current car insurance are required.
Physical Demands: Individual must be able to sit or stand for long periods, working directly with participants daily. This position is in a classroom environment.
