For over 30 years, we've been here for expectant parents exploring adoption, birth parents, prospective and current adoptive families, children in need of adoption, people who were adopted, and professionals in the community. Overview
Paths for Families hosts advanced standing/second year Master of Social Work (MSW) Interns who are students at various colleges and universities in the region. Hybrid (remote and in-person) Internships are available for the Fall - Spring school year in departments such as: Counseling and Foster Care Adoption Program.
Qualifications & Education Requirements
Each intern is required to complete (and maintain as necessary) a physical exam to include a TB test, a criminal background check in identified jurisdictions, Child Protective Services Registries check in identified jurisdictions, and orientation training. Local travel to various offices may be required.

Qualifications & Education Requirements
- At minimum, should be a 2nd year MSW major at a college or university and be in good standing.
- Some evening availability required.
- Be open to and maintain respect for the clients of Paths for Families, understanding that our clients come from various life circumstances, racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious faiths. That many of our clients are members of the LGBTQ community.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in PC usage, along with proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Can work in a virtual/hybrid environment.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
