The Opportunity
PAF is currently seeking a Grant Manager to join our team. This individual will be engaged as a critical team member within the Program Development team. The Grant Manager will work closely with internal leadership to formulate plans and proposals for funding opportunities. This role will manage the full lifecycle of grant proposals, from researching and identifying funding sources to developing, submitting, and tracking proposals through execution and final reporting. The Grant Manager will ensure all proposals align with organizational priorities, compliance requirements, and funder expectations. Key skills for success in this role include strong attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with various technology tools. The Grant Manager must be organized, able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, and collaborate effectively across teams while maintaining a high level of independence.
This role is eligible for up to 100% remote work. The preferred location of the remote employee would be in specified work states in the eastern region of the United States (Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia). This role is predominately remote with in-office days as needed (up to 5% annually), the work site location for office days is in Hampton, VA (travel for training or in-office needs will be provided by PAF).
The Grant Manager will be responsible for:
- Research & Identification: Maintain existing funding and identify new funding opportunities from government, foundation, and private sources aligned with organizational goals in healthcare navigation.
- Proposal Development & Submission: Collaborate with team leaders and Executive Leaders to develop, prepare, write, and submit grant requests. Tailor proposals to align with the specific focus and priorities of each funding source while ensuring proposed initiatives are feasible and align with the organization’s capacity to deliver.
- Grant Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of grants, from initial research, proposal development, and submission to tracking progress, maintain funding calendars, financial documentation, and final reporting. Disseminate grant information to program and operations units as needed.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Partner with Executive Leadership and cross-functional teams to gather necessary data, clarify project objectives, and align proposals with the organization's mission and capacity.
- Relationship Building & Stewardship: Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, providing timely updates on program progress and ensuring long-term partnerships.
- Grant Documentation & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all grant-defined requirements, including reporting deadlines, financial documentation, and programmatic milestones. Maintain comprehensive and organized grant files (funded and unfunded), and track activities using platforms (e.g., Salesforce) for auditing and reporting purposes. Assist staff with periodic reports and budget reconciliation to meet compliance standards.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 years of professional experience in grant management and fundraising, with a track record of successful grant acquisition and oversight required.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, nonprofit management, public administration) preferred.
- Experience working in a nonprofit or similar environment preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in utilizing various technological tools and platforms essential for the role to include Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required, experience working with Salesforce or other donor databases highly preferred.

Salary range commensurate with experience: $65,000 - $75,000
