Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support and Technology Improvement Analyst to join our team. This hybrid role requires a combination of technical expertise in desktop support and technology skills to broadly improve the technology usage and positioning of the firm. The successful candidate will provide end-user support for desktop systems working in conjunction with a third-party vendor and ensure the optimal functioning of technology tools and reporting systems as well as help the firm utilize the most advanced technology tools, such as artificial intelligence. Additionally, they will assist in gathering, analyzing, and presenting data insights to help the organization make data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Desktop Support:
- The point of contact between end-users and our third-party vendor who provides technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop-related technical problems, including operating systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
- Help to ensure the setup, configure, and maintenance of desktop hardware and software, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Create and track till completion support tickets, ensuring high user satisfaction.
- Manage third party vendors completion of software installations, updates, and patches across desktops.
- Provide training and documentation to end-users on desktop systems and applications.
- Work to ensure Business Continuity Plan is tested appropriately.
Technology Improvement:
- Knowledge, experience and education to provide in-house technology expertise to advance usage across various business functions
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of BI tools and reporting systems (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL-based reporting).
- Work with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable reports and dashboards.
- Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources (databases, spreadsheets, etc.) for analysis and reporting purposes.
- Analyze business performance data and provide insights that guide decision-making.
- Create and maintain data models, reports, and visualizations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
- Perform data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and consistency of BI reports.
- Collaborate with business units to define and refine reporting needs and metrics.
- Continuously optimize systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or a related role preferred.
- Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Excel) and data analytics preferred.
- Experience in desktop troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with database management and query languages (e.g., SQL).
- Experience in data analysis and report creation.
- AI experience/literacy
Skills:
- Strong technology knowledge and sophistication, includingf desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.) and desktop applications (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and end-users.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Self-started with bias towards action
- Flexibility and adaptability
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
