Patriot Maritime is a leading ship owner and maritime contractor to the U.S. Government providing ship management services to MARAD, the Military Sealift Command (MSC), and commercial vessels. (www.patriotships.com) Offices are located in Concord, CA and Houston, TX.
Patriot is looking for a Business Development Manager to support company growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and developing strategies. This position is on-site with the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
Job Description: Partner with the CFO and CEO to drive new business, support the bid process, prepare forecasts, monthly financial analysis and reporting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Assist the CEO and other executives with strategic planning; goal setting, and forecasting of sales targets and growth projections.
· Prospect and research target markets, identify leads, and pursue new business opportunities.
· Support bids/proposals, prepare sales presentations, and participate in sales meetings.
· Streamline and drive the bid process for future contracts/charters.
· Support the Finance team in the annual operating budget and forecast processes.
· Evaluate strategic options and provide advice to leadership with regard to new business and bid structuring.
· Analyze and interpret data to provide accurate, useful, and timely reports.
· Act as liaison between the business and accounting shared services group.
· Identify business process improvement opportunities and develop solution options.
· Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
· Knowledge of government contracts
· Stay up-to-date on industry developments and competitors.
Qualifications:
· B.S in Business Management or similar, MBA preferred
· Strong math or finance background
· Strong financial planning & excel background
· Strong analytical background with strict attention to detail
· Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to make effective presentations and convey reporting to stakeholders
· The ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
· Proficient using Microsoft Office applications.
· Ability to prioritize tasks, perform detailed execution of tasks and adapt to a changing environment.
· Strong business acumen
