What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Substitute Teacher position at Patriot Preparatory Academy?
This building substitute position is an ideal position for new teachers looking to develop their skills. After one year, building substitutes would be given first consideration for open teaching positions.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive educational climate for students
- Implement a positive behavior reward system
- Follow all PPA policies to help ensure uniformity of the program
Professional Development
- Observe and collaborate with other teachers in the building multiple times throughout the year to for mutual growth/development in accordance with the peer observation program
- Attend professional development opportunities throughout the school year or summer for your continuous improvement
- Reflect and evaluate lessons/policies/practices often
Additional Items
- Build a relationship with students and parents so that they know you want only the best for the student
- Maintain a strong collaborative relationship with teachers, instructional support staff, etc.
- Be supportive of the PPA team at all times, but especially when speaking to parents and students
