Pattern Energy is excited to hire our summer 2024 interns! Pattern Energy’s Summer Internship Program gives undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience to develop technical skills and a better understanding of the renewable industry. This internship program runs for approximately 10-12 weeks and includes a formal welcome, mentorship opportunities, and diverse exposure to executives and business units. This is one way that Pattern Energy supports the renewable energy industry and invests in the next generation of great minds.
The External Affairs team is seeking a graduate-level intern to support their work in public policy for the advancement of Pattern Energy’s clean power business including legislative and state regulatory activity. The role will work with various members of the Government and Regulatory Affairs team and have exposure to functions within the External Affairs department, including stakeholder engagement, communications and sustainability initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the Government and Regulatory Affairs with policy and government relations initiatives.
- Conduct policy analysis, memos, and talking points to support advocacy of policy changes that would support company’s business.
- Develops regulatory and policy updates for internal use by colleagues by collecting information from various sources including regulatory filings, intelligence from trade associations and other external outlets.
- Work collaboratively across different departments, including Business Development, Fundamentals.
- Completion of a formal internship project.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience/Qualifications/Education Required
- Minimum working towards a bachelor’s or advanced degree in political science, environmental sciences, economics, business administration, communications, or similar discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to express ideas effectively and fluently.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment where teamwork and independent work ethic are essential.
- Ability to synthesize and organize large amounts of information.
- Ability to organize time well and set proper priorities.
- Must be in their junior year or first semester of senior year or first year of Masters program.
This position will commence in late May/early June through August 2024.
The expected starting pay range for this role is $20.00 - $32.00. This range is an estimate and base pay may be based on several factors including but not limited to location, previous work experience, certifications, and education level. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s provides an invaluable hands-on internship experience.
