JOB PURPOSE
The Real Time Power and Transmission Scheduler is responsible for scheduling the energy and using complex tools to optimize the 24/7 generation dispatch of Pattern Energy Group’s (PEG) wind assets. Manages real-time operations around the generation resources including wind forecasting, energy scheduling, scheduling of contract purchases and sales, and real-time purchases and sales of energy/capacity. Has key authority in managing a large transmission portfolio with the responsibility to purchase and trade transmission products in the Western Interconnection.

Responsibilities
JOB PURPOSE
The Real Time Power and Transmission Scheduler is responsible for scheduling the energy and using complex tools to optimize the 24/7 generation dispatch of Pattern Energy Group’s (PEG) wind assets. Manages real-time operations around the generation resources including wind forecasting, energy scheduling, scheduling of contract purchases and sales, and real-time purchases and sales of energy/capacity. Has key authority in managing a large transmission portfolio with the responsibility to purchase and trade transmission products in the Western Interconnection.
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor real-time transmission positions, analyze wind forecasts and market obligations to optimize transmission redirects, transmission purchases and the scheduling coordination of E-Tags. Accurately record transactions in relevant deal capture system.
- Maintain summary of available transmission reservations; manage reservations in OASIS including performing trans-assignments and redirects as needed.
- Coordinate with the Pattern 24/7 control center to ensure proper real-time monitoring and alarming of key scheduling, tagging and transmission parameters.
- Evaluate system alarms and irregularities, taking corrective action as outlined in established guidelines.
- Work with analysts to develop tools that track and analyze current and anticipated transmission outages as well as wind forecasts Develops and/or improves user input forms to streamline data collection from various departments.
- Assist the Real Time Manager with transmission usage and REC creation tie-outs.
- Maintain understanding of the energy markets where Company assets are located and understand commercial practices as they relate to managing merchant power pricing and scheduling.
Experience/Qualifications/Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- 1 years of Energy industry experience related to energy dispatch and/or hourly trading preferred. Recent college graduates with relevant technical and analytical backgrounds will be considered
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, where organizational skills are essential in handling multiple tasks and interruptions while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Understanding of the WECC transmission system and/or other markets such as SPP, ERCOT, PJM
- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift
- Meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficient use of industry-specific software.

Salary : $80,000 - $108,000
