Lubrication Technician
Wage: $21.50 - $23.50/hour, based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday- Friday primarily, but some weekend work may be required.
Position Summary
Pattison Company is seeking a dedicated Lubrication Technician to join our team at our Clayton, IA location. This essential role ensures the smooth operation of our rolling stock assets and equipment through daily inspections and preventative maintenance. As a critical part of our maintenance team, the Lubrication Technician plays a vital role in reducing downtime and extending the life of our machinery. Primary Responsibilities
- Fuel, grease, and service all rolling stock equipment.
- Operate and maintain the lube truck, onboard fueling systems, and greasing system.
- Service and repair rolling stock auto-lube systems.
- Clean and maintain the fuel island, oil room, and spill kit inventory.
- Work closely with the mechanics department to report issues such as oil leaks, bad hoses, non-functioning lights, and missing or defective fill caps.
- Accurately complete fueling and pass-down reports.
- Travel throughout the site, including underground, to service and repair rolling stock.
- Maintain DOT logs if traveling off the mine site.
- Comply with all DOT, State, Federal, MSHA, and company regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Physically operate heavy equipment.
- Speak and write English proficiently.
- Stand for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces and bend or stoop.
- Work up to 12-hour shifts.
- Climb on and off equipment and ladders.
- Work at heights.
- Wear a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours at a time.
- Lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Work in damp, dimly lit, and confined work areas.
Education & Experience
- General equipment knowledge and experience with fueling or lubrication preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certifications & Licenses
- General equipment knowledge and experience with fueling or lubrication preferred.
- MSHA Part 48 certification required (Training available on-site).
- Valid Driver’s License required.
