Preventative Maintenance Technician
Location: Clayton, Iowa
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Wage: $22.00/hour starting wage (Increases based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift

Pattison Company is seeking dedicated Maintenance Technicians to keep our operations running efficiently. As a vital member of our team, you will play a critical role in preventing breakdowns, maintaining equipment, and ensuring 24/7 operational success. Primary Responsibilities
As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Inspect and lubricate bearings on conveyance systems.
- Repair mechanical breakdowns, including bearings, conveyor belts, and more.
- Perform daily maintenance in both wet and dry plant environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints for maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with safety and guarding issues in plant operations.
- Respond to process line breakdowns and perform immediate repairs.
- Identify, locate, and retrieve parts from inventory.
- Complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Document completed work in daily reports.
- Perform housekeeping duties in assigned areas of the plant.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions on uneven, sandy, and rocky surfaces

Must be able to:
- Stand for 6-12 hours and perform physical tasks such as bending and stooping
- Work up to 12-hour shifts
- Climb on and off equipment and ladders
- Wear a half-mask respirator for extended periods
- Lift 60 to 80 pounds without mechanical assistance
- Accurately handle numerical analysis for troubleshooting.
- Work at heights and in damp, dimly lit environments
- Proficiently speak and write in English
- Bend, stoop, climb ladders, and access confined spaces.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and commitment to workplace safety
Education & Work Experience
- High school diploma preferred, but not required.
- 2-year technical degree or relevant prior experience preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
- MSHA Part 48 certification required (Training available on-site).
- All Pattison employees must hold a valid Driver’s License.
