Job Summary:
The Sheet Metal Foreman – Roofing is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the installation, repair, and maintenance of sheet metal components in roofing projects. This includes supervising a team of sheet metal workers, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and managing job site activities to ensure timely project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership: Lead and direct a team of sheet metal workers, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
- Installation & Fabrication: Oversee the cutting, shaping, and installation of sheet metal roofing materials, including flashing, gutters, and panels.
- Project Management: Coordinate work schedules, materials, and equipment to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work for accuracy, durability, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce workplace safety regulations, conduct safety meetings, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to materials, installation, or crew performance.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Training & Development: Mentor and train less experienced workers in sheet metal roofing techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience as a sheet metal worker with at least 5 years in roofing.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or foreman role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal roofing systems, fabrication, and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices.
- Physical ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform manual labor.
