Job Summary
The Quality Manager oversees and drives quality improvement initiatives, monitors key quality metrics, and ensures compliance with Patz Materials and Technologie’s quality management systems. This role involves leading the quality team, working closely with other departments to identify and resolve quality concerns, and implementing effective solutions. The Quality Manager plays a critical role in maintaining high standards across the organization to ensure consistent product and process quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and manage Quality Engineering, Quality Control, and Quality Systems within manufacturing operations.
- Provide leadership and direction either directly or through teams, as appropriate.
- Supervise and support quality activities at Patz Material & Technologies including but not limited to CARs, Deviations/Nonconformances, Internal and External Audits, Supplier Audits, Calibration, and Complaint Investigations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
- Oversee the product release process to guarantee that safe and effective products are delivered to customers. Responsible for the approval or rejection of components, finished products, and related documents to ensure product quality.
- Develop and strengthen the quality function and team members. Ensure all associates in the quality department are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify quality improvement opportunities and propose new processes and technologies to optimize efficiencies.
- Assist in formulating and reviewing quality standards, policies, programs, plans, and procedures, recommending improvements where necessary
- Lead department staff to achieve quality, business, and organizational objectives while fostering a culture of compliance aligned with Patz Materials & Technologies values.
- Develop, manage, and improve plant quality metrics, evaluating them to identify quality issues and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Continuously evaluate and improve Quality Management Systems (QMS) and related business processes, including product controls, to meet quality goals.
- Maintain quality systems for Document Control, Corrective Action Plans (CAP), Internal Audits, and Complaint Investigations.
- Support root cause analysis for quality issues across operations, manufacturing, and customer complaints.
- Provide guidance and support for new products, processes, and engineering changes, ensuring alignment with quality standards.
- Offer on-site technical support for new and ongoing manufacturing operations.
- Review and analyze customer specifications and material requirements.
- Develop and manage testing procedures and processes.
- Apply mathematical and statistical methods for analyzing Quality and Manufacturing data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or 5 years of comparable experience in Quality Assurance Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience with composites are a plus.
- Proficient at editing and writing technical documents.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards is preferred but not required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with customers, suppliers, and auditors.
- Experience with problem-solving methodologies and Quality Planning activities.
- Solid people management, planning, and organizational skills.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
