Field Technician
- Perform scheduled inspections & maintenance on company-owned and managed systems
- Monthly & Annual station inspections
- Odorant sniff tests
- Leak surveys
- Pipeline patrolling
- Valve & relief valve inspections
- Class Location & HCA surveys on transmission piping
- Corrosion control inspections & surveys on buried and above ground pipe
- Install & Commission customer meter sets
- Install (or inspect contractor installation of) service lines, including performing heat fusion
- Perform utility locating in response to one-call tickets and provided ticket responses to GSOC and excavator
- Provide on-site inspection for excavations which will cross company-owned or managed systems to ensure pipeline assets are not damaged
- With guidance from Field Manager, develop and familiarity with company-owned and managed systems, and keep equipment and piping in good working order. This includes recognizing maintenance needs before failure occurs, troubleshooting when issues arise and making repairs as needed
- Respond immediately to pipeline emergencies on company-owned or managed assets, and coordinate response & repair activities with other emergency responders as appropriate
- Respond to odor/leak complaints to ensure public safety and system integrity
- Maintain signage at pipeline facilities and along right-of-way
- Serve disconnect notices and perform meter lockoffs/"unlock & lights" as directed by Field Manager and/or Office Manager
- Perform meter reads and re-reads as requested by Field Manager and/or Office Manager
- Complete required paperwork for all work performed, including map updates
- Participate in MNOPS inspections as requested
- Represent company at industry meetings as directed/approved by Field Manager ( including but not limited to MNCAER & CGA Meetings)
- Answer questions that come up regarding any of the above
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical equipment maintenance, or natural gas operations
- Valid Minnesota Class D Drivers License
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Able to lift 100lbs
- Able to work outdoors all seasons
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Programs, iPad apps, etc)
