Key responsibilities :
Identifying potential government agencies and projects that align with the company's capabilities, researching their procurement needs, and generating qualified leads.
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with government buyers, contracting officers, and key decision-makers through networking, attending industry events, and regular communication.
Creating comprehensive proposals that address government requirements, including technical specifications, pricing, and compliance details, while ensuring competitive advantage.
Negotiating contract terms and conditions with government agencies, including price, delivery schedules, and performance metrics.
Ensuring adherence to all government contracting regulations, including FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), GSA (General Services Administration) schedules, and other applicable laws.
Monitoring competitor activity in the government contracting market and identifying opportunities to differentiate the company's offerings.
Tracking sales performance, identifying trends, and providing accurate sales forecasts to management.
Managing existing government contracts, addressing customer concerns, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Required skills :
Extensive knowledge of the federal procurement process, including RFPs (Requests for Proposals), RFIs (Requests for Information), and the FAR.
Familiarity with the products or services being sold, including their technical specifications and applications relevant to government needs.
Ability to effectively present complex technical information to government decision-makers.
Building trust and rapport with government contacts to secure new business opportunities.
Negotiating contract terms and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
Understanding and adhering to government contracting regulations and ethical standards.
