What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal I position at Paul Hastings?

We have an opening for a Paralegal I.
The Paralegal I supports the management of cases and/or projects, and coordinates the related workflow.
In this capacity, the Paralegal I will:
- Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner so as to permit the Firm to reasonably collect fees for such work;
- Meet expectations of billable hours target of 1,400 (unless otherwise specified);
- Assist with closings by preparing and finalizing transactional and legal documents;
- Assist with creating closing binders, update closing checklist, and track status updates;
- Organize, review, and maintain documents and files related to real estate transactions;
- Assist with ordering and reviewing lien searches and corporate organizational documents;
- Prepare and inventory signature pages from various parties;
- Partner and coordinate with internal resources and third-party vendor services as needed;
- Coordinate with other areas/departments of the Firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures/communications to streamline processes and satisfy various department needs;
- Work overtime as required; travel as required; and
- Handle additional related projects as assigned.
Proficiencies:
- Fundamental proficiency in MS Outlook and web-based conference call/web-sharing applications;
- Fundamental proficiency in MS Word and document editing/comparison applications;
- Fundamental proficiency in MS Excel and spreadsheet/database applications;
- Fundamental proficiency in MS PowerPoint and presentation applications;
- Fundamental proficiency in online research and internet resources;
- Fundamental knowledge of Firm and Real Estate practice-area-specific procedures and terminology (preferred);
- Fundamental knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting applications (preferred); and
- Fundamental knowledge of legal billing processes (preferred).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred); and
- At least 1 year or relevant experience (preferred).

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $51,700 and a maximum of $64,400 annually. The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
