TalentFish is casting a line for a dynamic Manager of IT- Policy Administration for our premier client. This is a new, direct hire role that is 2-days hybrid in their Des Moines, Iowa office. This role will require candidates willing to travel to our client's other locations in Iowa, Illinois, and Louisiana, on occasion.
What You'll Do. (Role Overview)
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of IT, Staff Support & Policy Admin to oversee multiple Agile delivery PODs focused on Visual Cobol and other technologies within the life and annuity industry. This role balances technical acumen, leadership skills, Agile methodologies, and effective staff management engagement. The Technology Leader will ensure the delivery of high-quality Visual Cobol products while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence within the staff. What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, information systems, computer engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience; master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a staff leadership role.
- At least 5 years of experience with Policy Administration systems in the Life / Annuity Insurance industry.
- Proven experience in driving Agile transformations and scaling Agile principles across teams or organizations.
- Ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams.
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong familiarity with applicable data privacy practices, regulations, and laws.
- Solid technical skills with experience leading technical teams.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar Agile certification is strongly preferred.
- Multiple application development tools / platforms are preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and coach teams on technical issues.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and deliver talent management activities in a high-pressure environment.

Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
