- Husbandry of native butterfly and moth species, including capture, care, and maintenance in various life stages.
- Daily upkeep of the Butterfly House gardens to ensure adequate host plant material for the animals' life cycles.
- Interpretation of the exhibit to educate visitors on the biology and ecology of native Lepidoptera.
- Execution of the annual tagging and release of Monarch butterflies.
- Scheduling and supervision of summer naturalist interns and volunteers.
