Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate part-time college nurse to join our Office of Student Wellness. The successful candidate will provide high-quality, student-centered care and work collaboratively with our team to promote student well-being.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and referrals for students with minor illnesses and injuries.
- Administer first aid, medications, and vaccinations as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with HIPAA and college policies.
- Educate students on health promotion, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Collaborate with campus departments to support health initiatives and respond to public health concerns.
- Potential to assist in planning and executing health programs, screenings, and wellness events.
- Provide guidance and support for students with chronic conditions or mental health concerns, referring them to appropriate resources as needed.
- Help maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure a clean and safe clinical environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (experience in college health, urgent care, or primary care preferred).
- Phlebotomy skills strongly preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse student population.
- Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.
- Knowledge of public health principles, student wellness, and campus health trends.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Work Schedule:
Approximately 15-20 hours per week. Current schedule is 8:30 am-12:30pm Monday/Wednesday/Friday with additional hours possible during the week (to be determined with candidate). Competitive hourly wage, commensurate with experience.
