Position Overview:
As a Critical Care RN, you will provide advanced nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in our cardiac medical-surgical unit. You’ll address the physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients while managing diverse conditions such as:
- Pre/Post-PCI care
- CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, sepsis, and more
- Surgical recovery, including thoracotomy and carotid endarterectomy
You’ll operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines, A-lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support systems. This role requires a skilled professional who can assess evolving patient conditions, provide leadership, precept new staff, and deliver holistic care from admission to discharge.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program
Experience:
- Advanced Nursing Principles and Procedures
- Preferred: Critical care, CVICU, and open-heart experience
Skills:
- Proficiency in advanced medical equipment (IV pumps, A-lines, chest tubes, ventilatory support)
- Basic cardiac telemetry and EKG interpretation
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Montana RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver expert nursing care in compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor and manage complex conditions with minimal supervision.
- Support patients and their families during challenging times.
- Serve as a clinical leader, mentoring and precepting staff.
Workplace Collaboration:
- Reports To: Providers, Charge Nurse, Supervisor, DON
- Leads: LPNs, CNAs, Housekeeping, and Dietary Staff
- Teamwork: Collaborates with providers, healthcare professionals, and allied health staff.
State License: Must be active
