Ability to serve as liaison between students, parents, and staff regarding student attendance and discipline. General knowledge of district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulationsWorking Conditions : Physical Demands : School Office EnvironmentDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboardConstant interruptionsHearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephoneSeeing to read a variety of materialsSitting for extended periods of timeBending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materialsQualifications : Minimum of high school diploma or GEDTwo (2) years general clerical experience involving record-keeping and frequent public contactThe Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.Essential Functions : Verify excused and unexcused absencesPrepare various attendance recordsReview attendance data, records, and reports for completenessProcess and verify student absence and excuse information from parents for completenessOperate and maintain the automated attendance calling system dailyPrepare, distribute, collect, and process forms and applications required for attendance accounting and record-keepingGenerate related computerized lists and reportsOperate a variety of office equipment including a computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, and typewriterEstablish and maintain filing techniquesServe as liaison between students, parents and staff regarding student attendance, discipline, district attendance policies, procedures, rules, and regulationsMaintain records and prepare reportsLearn methods, procedures, policies, and terminology used in accounting for student attendanceInterpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies and proceduresMeet schedules and timelinesParticipate in training programs to improve individual skills and proficiency related to the assignmentFollow federal and state laws, as well as school board policesPerform other duties as assigned by Superintendent or designeeApplicants will be selected for interview.
