The Opportunity π
This newly created Master Production Scheduler role is critical in orchestrating the complex interplay between production processes, capacity constraints, and material availability. You'll be a key change agent implementing new systems while optimizing workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities π
- Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resource utilization
- Utilize MRP planning systems to generate accurate material requirements based on demand forecasts and inventory targets
- Collaborate with production managers and engineers to optimize resource allocation and machine efficiency
- Develop contingency plans to address capacity constraints and ensure uninterrupted production flow
- Analyze production data and metrics to drive improvements in processes and workflows
- Monitor material availability and inventory levels to mitigate risks of production disruptions
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and logistics
- Lead regular meetings to provide updates, address issues, and make recommendations for improvement
- Play a key role in implementing new systems by December (company goal)
Qualifications π
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or related roles within a manufacturing environment
- Proven track record managing production schedules, capacity planning, and material requirement planning
- Experience with planning tools, ERP systems, and MRP software (JDE/Oracle experience is a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across functional teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
- Experience with batch manufacturing and lean manufacturing principles
- Natural confidence and leadership qualities to drive process improvements

- Onsite at West Haven, CT (350 Frontage Road)
- Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm schedule
- Up to 10% domestic travel (mostly for trainings)
