Head of Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising

PawaStats is an innovative tech startup revolutionizing how businesses in emerging markets harness AI and data analytics. With our flagship product, PawaSocial, we empower SMBs across Africa with real-time, actionable insights. We are seeking a dynamic leader to build and nurture strategic partnerships and secure the capital needed to drive our growth.

Role Overview :

The Head of Strategic Partnerships & Fundraising will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to secure strategic alliances and raise funds from investors, corporate partners, and other funding sources. This is a leadership role ideally suited for someone with a proven track record in early-stage fundraising and business development within the tech ecosystem.

Note : This role is currently unpaid. However, we are committed to offering a competitive salary and employee share options post-investment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy for seed and early-stage rounds.
  • Identify, engage, and secure relationships with angel investors, venture capitalists, and strategic corporate partners.
  • Lead investor meetings, pitch presentations, and negotiations.
  • Build and maintain a robust investor pipeline using CRM tools and personal networks.

Strategic Partnerships :

  • Identify and establish partnerships that can accelerate our growth, including technology collaborations, channel partnerships, and joint marketing initiatives.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Represent PawaStats at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to build strategic alliances.
  • Brand & Market Positioning :

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling narratives that highlight PawaStats’ unique value proposition.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to refine product positioning and ensure alignment with investor and partner expectations.
  • Reporting & Metrics :

  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to fundraising and partnership development.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize strategies and approaches.
  • Qualifications & Experience :

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in fundraising, business development, or strategic partnerships, preferably within the tech startup ecosystem.
  • Preferably based in the United States.
  • Passionate about growing a startup in Africa.
  • Proven track record of successfully raising capital and establishing high-value partnerships.
  • Strong network within the venture capital, corporate, and startup communities.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of startup dynamics, investment space, market trends, and growth strategies.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
