JOB TITLE: Guidance Aide

DEPARTMENT: Pupil Personnel Services

BASIS OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time, 10 Month, 7.5 hours/day

RATE OF PAY: CSEA SALARY Grade 8A

QUALIFICATIONS: Competitive Civil Service Position. This appointment is temporary and expected to mature to a provisional appointment, pending future civil service exam; once established, candidate must be reachable from Certification of Eligibles produced by the Dutchess County Department of Human Resources, in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law. Internal applicants may apply for a transfer. .

This specialized support position manages computerized databases for a school district, handling clerical duties to support the School Counseling Office. Responsibilities include overseeing student records, schedules, grades, transcripts, and attendance. The incumbent adds, edits, and deletes data, producing reports as needed. Work is performed under the supervision of School Counselors, Building Principals, and Pupil Personnel Director.

MIN. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full-time clerical or administrative support experience which involved the regular use of electronic data processing equipment with word processing and data base management software programs.
