The Role You Play
The Nurse Manager is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of Pawnee’s staff nurses and Medical Assistants. They will also provide support to the Director of Medical Services regarding operational duties of the Medical department. This is a brand new role to suit our growing medical team!
- Provide supervision to nursing staff to include scheduling, delegation of tasks, oversight and instruction.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate a qualified staff of nursing professionals that will be a cohesive and respectful team.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Medical Services.
- Assist in the refinement of electronic health record workflows in respect to documenting medical services.
- Manage the caseloads distribution for APRNs and provide updates to the Director of Medical Services as requested.
- Manage all medication evaluation referrals by assigning an APRN and contacting the appropriate customer service representative to schedule the appointment.
- In collaboration with the Director of Medical services, develop a system for tracking and addressing frequent no-shows.
- Review and update Medical Services policies and procedures in cooperation with the Director of Medical Services.
- Observe nursing standard operating procedures and spearheading the implementation of best practices or operational efficiencies.
- Provide nursing support to medical staff within scope of license
- Attend and / or facilitate staff and other meetings as directed by the Director of Medical Services.
- Provide education and consultation to patients in areas such as symptoms-management, medication compliance, medication interactions, management of other health conditions that impact mental health, communicable diseases, nutrition, sexuality, hygiene, diet and wellness.
- Order, collect, distribute, inventory, manage and secure drug samples.
- Facilitate communication with pharmacies, primary care and specialty providers, health department(s) and other entities as necessary to promote compliance with medical follow up and treatment recommendations.
- Provide and / or oversee timely and thorough responses to client phone calls regarding prescription-related issues such as refill requests, medication questions, prior authorization for prescriptions, etc.
- Administer and / or oversee the administration of injectables as necessary and as ordered by medical staff.
- Maintain appropriate records and reports as required by the clinic, organization, local, state and federal laws.
- Facilitate and / or participate in psychiatric services conducted via telehealth including but not limited to accompanying patients during visits as necessary, facilitating communication between patient, family members and medical provider(s), assist medical staff with physical assessments (height, weight, blood pressure).

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a collaborative mindset to align technology with the organization’s clinical and administrative needs. Must be committed to the field of behavioral health, motivated, go-getter, self-starter, strategic thinker and boots on the ground. As this role is new and does not have an incumbent, they will also need strong "building" skills to develop Pawnee's internal IT program and set it up for success.
