The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare, strong organizational skills, and experience in volunteer management. This is a full-time, Salary Exempt position, Hours are 8:00-4:30pm Mon-Fri. Occasional nights and weekends may be needed to meet the requirements of this position. Position Summary
This role involves providing administrative support, developing and implementing recruitment strategies, and creating educational programs for our volunteers. The PAWS Volunteer Program Manager will be responsible for matching, placing, and onboarding foster puppy raisers, as well as implementing strategies to ensure a successful experience for the Foster Puppy volunteers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Volunteer Recruitment & Retention
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract potential PAWS Dog Volunteers and specifically volunteer foster puppy fosters.
- Orientation and onboarding for Foster Puppy volunteers and back-up support for Breeding Host Homes
- Assist volunteer department in coordinating recruitment & tabling events and represent PAWS as needed
- Support volunteer retention efforts
2. Administrative Support
- Oversee volunteer application processes, including screening and onboarding of new volunteers.
- Recordkeeping, administration, dashboards for CRM, Better Impact for Foster Puppy, and assist Breeding as needed
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities and feedback.
- Prepare reports on volunteer metrics and program effectiveness for management.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of the volunteer program, making recommendations for improvements.
3. Volunteer Education and Development
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and informational sessions to enhance volunteer knowledge and skills.
- Serve as a point of contact for volunteer questions and concerns, providing ongoing support and resources.
- Actively engaged in volunteer communications
4. Support Foster Puppy Training Staff
- Assist with puppy temp testing, enrichment, welfare, grooming for FP on campus
- Support on-campus breeding/ foster puppy volunteers
- Special breeding/foster puppy project coordinator
- Administrative liaison to foster puppy clubs, including working with foster puppy training staff for quarterly trainings
Non-Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with volunteer recognition, celebration, and recruiting events
- Foster Puppy Raiser Home Visits as needed
Supervision Received
- General Direction: Work from company policies and general objectives.? Rarely refer to superior, only for clarification and interpretation of company policy.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Basic supervision - Determines work assignments, priorities, and procedures for team members; ensuring the quality and quantity of work. Provides recommendations and feedback on employee life-cycle activities including hiring, training, promotions, performance management, and coaching, however, does not have ultimate decision-making authority. May be appointed to supervise the team for limited periods upon request.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Social Work, Nonprofit Management, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in volunteer management or program coordination.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and volunteer management software.
- Passion for and commitment to the mission of Paws With A Cause.

- Knowledge of disabilities PAWS serves, or willing to learn
- Previous Supervisor experienced preferred
