We are a private, veterinarian-owned small animal startup opening in Enfield, CT, with a focus on creating veterinary care that feels better—for our team, our patients, and our clients. Our hopes for you as one of our initial hires are:
- A desire to help foster and establish a healthy, collaborative team culture, including assisting in training new team members as we grow
- At least 2 years clinical experience
- Excellent technical skills with patient restraint, venipuncture, and administering oral and topical medications
- Experience with running laboratory equipment and preparing samples for send out and for veterinarian review
- Ability to position for and obtain radiographs
- Comfort and willingness to assist in client education and facilitate thorough communication
- Adequate computer skills to manage Shepherd, our cloud-based software
- Phone skills including the scheduling of appointments, medication requests, phone triage of sick patients, and communication with other hospitals
- Willingness to cross train and work in reception, exam rooms, and patient care
- Fear FreeTM Certification or willingness to obtain said certification (paid for by us)
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lb unassisted
Bonus skills:
- Competence in a language other than English, including ASL
- Comfort with ultrasound
- Willingness to assist with social media and marketing
