JOB TYPE: This will be a full-time position with eligibility for full benefits upon completion of brief probationary period.
LOCATION: This position will be hybrid with 90% of your time working remote. You may be required to attend occasional meetings in San Diego.
COMPENSATION: $80k - $110k Salary; Exempt. Note: This is a starting point and may differ based on the successful candidates’ interview and years of experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: The document control specialist is responsible for establishing project management procedures to achieve project goals and objectives by following Client specification and requirements within budget limitation and timelines. The specialist will complete a wide variety of data collection, data input, monitoring, maintaining, and reporting for documentation associated with fast-paced construction projects. You will be exposed to various aspects of documentation control as well as providing direct support to project managers, construction managers and construction coordinators for gas and electric utility projects.
What you will be responsible for: (Disclaimer: The lists below are not all inclusive)
- Processing new and revised packages and tracking drawing history.
- Routing and follow up of Request for Information (RFI).
- Facilitate planning meetings, update, and maintain schedules.
- Communicate progress updates and reports.
- Maintain master drawings and reproductions as applicable.
- Provide support to project close-out activities.
- Administrative support to the design and construction team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You must have the following: (Minimum)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or another related field, 2 years of progressive experience in document control for engineering and construction projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation capabilities.
- Computer experience required, including but not limited to utilizing the following MS Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and an understanding of Primavera P6
- You must have experience drafting Transmittals and RFIs.
- Demonstrated responsibility of projects or portfolio from $1 Million to $10 Million
- Experience using Oracle Unifier, Open Text, SharePoint Online, Procore
If you have the following you it would be a big plus: (Preferred)
- Certifications in records management or document control.
- Superior ability to interface with and across supporting organizations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
