Job Description Summary: This leadership role will be a vital member of the Consumer Group Business Risk and Controls team with responsibility for providing risk and control management expertise and delivering transformation and growth of the PayPal Marketing and Communications activities. You will have end to end, first line risk and control program responsibility and with the support of your team, will create, execute and maintain best in class risk management programs and processes to ensure operational excellence while enabling the business. Job Description: What you need to know about the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Risk & Controls leader to support PayPal’s Marketing and Communications businesses and who will help transform our first line of defense risk management strategy. The Marketing organization is on a multi-year transformation journey to reimagine the way we go to market and creating a significant opportunity to lead and affect change. In this role, you will lead a team of experts responsible for developing and maintaining PayPal’s first line business risk & control efforts across PayPal and Venmo Marketing and Communications. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across regions and organizations to enable and have significant impact on efficiency, quality and regulatory compliance so that we always deliver a great customer experience. Your day-to-day In your day-to-day role, you will… Lead first line of defense (FLOD) business risk & control Marketing and Communications team, acting as main point of contact for Marketing and Communications business risk activities within PayPal, including Venmo. Be a change agent. Create strategies and tactics to drive risk management transformation at PayPal to be best in class. Lead the implementation of processes and controls in response to technology, operations, regulatory or policy changes, ensuring Marketing and Communications activities are continuously operating in adherence with internal and external compliance requirements. Create best in class risk management solutions that leverage AI and automation wherever possible. Lead and participate in cross functional teams to strategize and execute a variety of regulatory, risk & compliance management programs that are significant in scope, complexity and risk, working collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups. Partner with Legal and the Second Line of Defense teams to stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations, and recommend appropriate improvements to ensure that marketing and communications activities comply with these changes. Work collaboratively with management and other functional teams to proactively identify opportunities for achieve business objectives and enhance risk management. Act as point of contact for regulatory inquiries, external/internal audits and SLOD testing to facilitate execution and, wherever applicable, develop remediation plans to further improve adherence to regulatory obligations and PayPal's risk & compliance management requirements. Oversee the management of operational incidents and engage necessary teams for investigation, root cause analysis and remediation planning to prevent incident reoccurrence. You manage a forward plan of all upcoming remediation and improvement activities, communicating broadly to marketing and communications teams on upcoming changes, impacts and action plans. You report on the Marketing and Communication organization’s risk profile, emerging risks and issues to senior management and key stakeholders, enabling informed decision making. Additional Job Description: What do you need to bring 10 years’ of relevant experience in Audit, Risk & Compliance, Internal Controls or similar in global environments Strong leadership and vision with demonstrated experience in creating and executing strategy. Proven project management skills and the ability to consistently deliver on commitments. Customer champion with a good understanding of Data Privacy and Consumer Protection regulations globally that influence marketing activities. Significant experience leading global, cross-functional teams. Strong interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, initiative and integrity. Attention to detail. Experience working in a rapid growth environment in financial services, payments or technology companies is a plus.
